For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by dragonflies. Growing up in the Philippines, I would often see them in our yard. My mom loved plants, which made our home lush and inviting to all kinds of insects. I remember trying to catch dragonflies by their wings, thinking I was stealthy enough to sneak up on them quietly. Sometimes, I succeeded—it was always such a thrill to admire them up close for a moment before letting them go. They came in all sizes. The bigger ones were slightly easier to catch, but oh boy, did they bite! It didn’t really hurt, but the first time it happened, I definitely learned to release them right away.
My fascination with dragonflies continued into adulthood. Over the years, I’ve learned that they symbolize change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization. They move with such quiet elegance. To me, they’re magical creatures—especially their transparent wings that shimmer in the light, as if scattering a bit of stardust wherever they land. I’ve always found that mesmerizing.
Dragonflies also have short lifespans—often living only 2 to 8 weeks. But because of that, I imagine them living life to the fullest. They seem to know who they are and where they are, making every moment count because their time is limited.
As I find myself at a crossroads in life, I deeply identify with the magical essence of these ethereal beings. That’s why the dragonfly came to mind when I was designing my logo. It ties beautifully with MyLittleFe as I embark on this next chapter of my journey—one of learning, transformation, and self-discovery.
